Friday night, I had the privilege of shooting Tigerbeat, Tara Terra, and Cullen Omori for Innocent Words.
Tigerbeat is a local band comprised of John Isberg, Michael Hicks, and Matt Yeats. This was the first time I had heard them. They did not disappoint. Their album The Last Picture Show, is so dreamy and soothing — they are just as good (if not better) live.
After Tigerbeat my favorite local band, Tara Terra, preformed. Let me tell you, this is probably the best I've ever seen them live and every time I've seen them they have been phenomenal. I could rave about them indefinitely, but all the right vibes were there last night. If you haven't heard their album Daughter, you need to drop everything you're doing and listen.
Honestly, I hadn't really looked up Cullen Omori before his set, but when I saw how nice the light looked I knew something special was about to happen.
Omori has that cool "sad boy" aesthetic that I've always wanted to achieve but never really have (or will) which gives him a pretty rad stage presence.
His music is also definitely worth checking out. After his previous band, Smith Westerns, broke up Omori embarked on a solo career and creating his own sound. His major influences are The Beatles (if you couldn't tell by the high guitars) and John Lennon.
Omori's newest album, New Misery, releases March 18th.
